The reason people were complaining about Wrigley Field is
because the game could only be played at 1 endzone for safety reasons. I guess when they decided to play the game there no one considered the possibility that a player could get injured from running into the ivy wall (most likely on a TD reception). Is the White Sox's ballpark too small to configure a football field on it?
I am not sure if Nap Town would be interested in hosting an ACC-Big Ten event over Labor Day Weekend because it frequently hosts a MEAC-SWAC event which I think is typically held sometime in September. Something else to consider is the NFL's policy of the Super Bowl champion from the previous year hosting the first NFL regular season game on Thursday night (a few days after Labor Day). For stadiums that use grass, there may not be enough time to re-sod (if necessary) and repaint the field to get it camera ready for the first NFL regular season game. At least I don't think the NFL or any team wants its field to have that "December" look for the first home game.
