Spotted Owls
When the Endangered Species Act (1973) added the Spotted Owl to the endangered list, it effectively stopped lumbering in its tracks in Oregon. Instead of harvesting old-growth, full-grown trees, lumber companies were mandated to leave them alone.
Last night, our team encountered an old-growth forest team. The trees ripped down 19 offensive rebounds and converted them into 24 second (third) chance points while we managed 4 offensive rebounds for 7 points.
That's the game.
