Me thinks a new separate P4 will require each league to add a couple duds.

There will be pressure as these things break away to look out for a number of programs.

I happen to think leagues could do worse than adding OSU and WVU. This new power conference of ACC, B1G, SEC, and Pac12 will have even less to do with academic affiliation too. Tell me why does it really matter how highly ranked a school is if you're playing them in football. Washington State competes against Stanford all the time and nobody gets confused and thinks Washington State's as good a school. It just doesn't matter.

I think this new breakaway "THING" will include anywhere from 70-80 schools, it will be more focused on money than academic affiliation, and it will require even the SEC and B1G to add a couple of schools they wouldn't normally be willing to add.

And I happen to think WVU survives, probably in the ACC though. The ACC will be struggling to find enough schools that add any sort of value in its footprint. ND, WVU, UCONN all bring at least something to the table for the ACC.
