What rivals did Nebraska have in the Big XII?

Oklahoma -- a great Big 8 rivalry that the Big XII destroyed by not having Oklahoma and Nebraska play every year. There were proposals to have the game played as a non-conference game in years when they were not scheduled to play by the Big XII, but Oklahoma balked at that idea. The rivalry was already a shell of its former self at the point when Nebraska left the conference.

Colorado certainly considered Nebraska a rival and ESPN tried to market them as such, especially after the annual Oklahoma rivalry ended, but that feeling was never reciprocated.

Kansas State and Nebraska had some good football games during the Snyder era at KSU, but Nebraska now has similar games with Big 10 foes.

Kansas has never been consistently good enough at football, nor has Nebraska been consistently good enough at basketball for that to be a real rivalry. Kansas always considered KSU and Missouri their top rivals, while Nebraska never really considered Kansas.

Oklahoma State, Iowa State, and Missouri -- no rivalry that anyone will miss.

The only real issue is that travel time was reduced to the Kansas schools and Iowa State in the Big XII in comparison to what it is now in the Big 10. However, Nebraska fans have seemingly not had difficulty with travel to the other divisional schools within the Big 10. Plus, for a fan and alumni base that is spread across the country rather than more localized, the viewing access to Nebraska sporting events has been greatly increased with the Big Ten's network and ESPN contract. I think most Nebraska fans and alumni are very happy to be in the Big 10 right now even if the football program has still not returned to its former glory yet (and, to be fair, the football program had dropped off before entrance into the Big 10).
