You're right - you don't owe them anything. But it goes both ways.
If they find out that you were secretly looking for a job with a competitor, and there's no contractual obligation on their part to retain you, they are perfectly within their rights to terminate you.
Especially if the company has been forthright and has dealt with you in good faith (much like CJF and staff did in this case). [Post edited by PIHokie at 02/02/2017 09:32AM]
