Sigh. So about West Virginia...

Public Disclaimer: If you are one of those posters that cannot stand to read anything about WVU that does not trash them... you should stop reading now.

Not that I'm a fan. Oh no, far from it. I have plenty of Eer in-laws that have been living in high cotton for a decade now and let me tell you I hear about it. I would love nothing more than for them to have a few decades of sucking.

Remember how we said how bad the Big East would be when we left? Recruiting would dry up. National attention would vanish. Yeah, the conference schedules were unattractive (Rutgers, Pitt, Cuse, USF, UConn, Cincy, Louisville)... but guess what. Louisville built a program. WVU won or shared the conference title just about every year. Even Rutgers interrupted their 100 year run of crappy irrelevant football for a couple years of Chopping Wood! And you know what WVU did when they got to those BCS bowls? They won them. Convincingly. Ask Clemson about 70-33...

Did recruiting dry up? Nope. They established an offensive identity with speed all over the field in a spread offense. Then they moved to the Big 12. Surely they could not compete with the likes of Texas and Oklahoma. Except... they did. And now they have a Big12 offense with a real defense (which the Big 12 apparently has never seen). The Eers are doing quite well in football and will give VT all we can handle on opening day next year.

And don't get me started on basketball. Who knew they even had a team? Then Huggy moves in and now "Press Virginia" is a thing. Like they invented the backcourt press. Geez. But what can we say after that complete turd laid in Cassell last year. They have a top 10 ranked team that recently beat Kansas.

Yeah I know, reading this makes most VT fans want to puke. Writing it was no picnic either. Anyways, here is my point....

Despite over a decade of reasons why WVU was going to fade into oblivion... they're killing it. Don't get me wrong. I would not trade places with them. I greatly prefer the ACC over the Big 12 for many reasons. But let's not get to exciting about one possibly mediocre recruiting class. Who cares. What matters is whether we kick the crap out of them in FedEx next year. You know they will be hyped for it... do you really think they care that much about Texas Tech or Iowa State or Baylor or Kansas or... yeah.
