The problem UConn has is the value of its men's and women's
basketball programs doesn't come close to the value of Irish football. At least that is what some people would say to support why the ACC decided to bend over and take it up the tailpipe to get Notre Dame as a partial member. Specifically the part about the ACC agreeing to play 5 annual football games against Notre Dame instead of taking a firmer stance and insisting on at least 6 annual football games. The 1 extra game may not seem like much until you consider that the 14 members can play the Irish more frequently during the regular season.
