10 ACC schools have played at E. Hartford the past dozen years.

Of course the former Big East members have played there when in the same conference, and UVA, UNC, NC State,Duke, Wake, Boston College, and Georgia Tech have all played there. I don't see playing football games at E. Hartford to be that much of a worry.

The objective for the ACC with UConn would be to recruit tuition paying students more than to recruit football players. There are plenty of football players from other parts of the league footprint. The median income in Connecticut is higher than other regions of the US, and finding students to pay these high private university tuition is a priority for many of the ACC Presidents. Showcasing league schools in that region should be a priority.

The academic profile of UConn as a top 60 national university should also have a level of attractiveness.

I don't know if 7 games is the right number, but the concept moves the ball forward for the league. And the concept of 22 basketball games gives 14 more games for the ESPN contract. That has value.
