The networks have already figured out ways around the ad revenue


For motorsports events, networks have implemented side-by-side broadcasts. For sporting events (i.e. soccer, rugby, etc.) that require continuous broadcast, the networks sell segments to sponsor so they can display the sponsor's logo and 1 of the announcers can say, "This segment of continuous broadcast is brought to you by...." While traditional PPV broadcasts don't use those tactics, it could be one of the changes to the model (assuming the networks switch to the PPV model).
