If a sport makes money, sponsor it. If not, see ya.

That's the way the rest of the world works. Why not here? And when it comes to exposure, VT's dollars are best spent keeping up with the SEC and B1G in football and basketball. Even a Natty in any other sport isn't nearly as good as a BCS bowl or Sweet 16 spot. VT needs to focus its efforts in those two departments. We don't have network money, new TV deal money, or televangelist money to be slinging around trying to keep up with the Joneses in niche sports. A bass fishing title is about as exciting for me as a field hockey trophy. Who really cares?
