And I fail to see how essentially throwing away millions of dollars on a sport only a few dozen folks cares about makes a school up to date. The whole concept of traveling non revenue athletes around the country to compete is nuts. It's even more nuts to spend tens of millions of dollars each year in order to build state of the art facilities, give these kids scholarships, and pay coaches.

What do these sports REALLY provide the school? I have no problem with these kids competing at club sport and intramural sport levels. That's about as much attention these sports warrant.

Again, I'm about as impressed with VT's bass fishing title as another school's tennis titles.
