I'm a homer just like the rest.

And this is encouraging, but after thinking about it from a 10,000 ft level -- the difference between Brands and Dresser is night and day.

Brands selfishly wants to protect his identity and Iowa's as evidenced by his words and actions.

Dresser selflessly wants to build and maintain the health of wrestling.

So that being said, his potential leaving for ISU could be a good thing. He would leave VT in a very good position and allow one of his accomplished assistants to take over and continue VT as a very competitive program. Meanwhile ho goes to ISU and revitalizes that program; the more competitive programs the better. Wrestling is and continues to be in a precarious position...it has lost interest at the high school level and international level (e.g., the threat to pull it from the Olympics). I think this is what makes Dresser special is that he wants what is good for the sport, not necessarily for himself.

But I do hope he stays and maybe one of our assistants gets the nod for ISU or some other programs soon. We want the sport to grow...not shrink.
