They are far from a lock, but they are a realllly interesting team
They've now beaten Duke, FSU and UVA. However, all those wins have been at home. They've also lost to UConn (Neutral Site), St. Johns (at home by 33!) and BOSTON COLLEGE (an away game, but still). They've won two away games against NCSt. and Clemson, which is a little helpful, but they are the only 2 games outside of the Carrier Dome that they have won. Their RPI is only 78 which, historically, is a resounding 1-4 seed in the NIT.
So, does their name get them in? Conference affliation? The fact that they were in the Final Four just last year? No telling, but if they lose at Louisville, win against GT, then lose their first ACCT game, I can't see them getting in. They will have an RPI in the 70s and they will have only won two games outside of the Dome against teams with less than 6 wins in conference.
