They may lose it anyways if the federal government steps in


and forces these athletic departments to be separate entities from the schools which would most likely result in these athletic conferences to be deemed "professional conferences." Now if the federal government decides not to go down that path, then would antitrust exemption be enough of a carrot for these conferences to pool their resources together?
