Your basically saying that MLS and its academies will consume all the talent in the country that is any good and no good soccer players will waste time with college making the college product inferior enough that no one will watch it.

That could be right. But I see baseball with the farm system and little leagues, etc. College Baseball has a role in there somewhere. It has fans watching. But there are tons and tons of kids participating in baseball. Perhaps soccer needs to build to that level before the left overs that play college create a good product.
