Illinois does have to compete against Wisky and Indiana which


may be about the same distance as Duke and UNC. You could probably include Purdue since the program appears to be getting back to where it was under Gene Keady. In football there is a reason a HC will leave a P5 program to become a HC at an SEC school. It is because the SEC is considered to be the best football conference. Also, it means it is rare for a SEC HC to leave and become a HC in another P5 conference. The ACC is considered to be the best basketball conference. So like in football it should be rare for a ACC HC to leave and become HC in another P5 conference. The only reason a HC should want to leave the ACC in basketball or SEC in football is if that P5 program is considered to be a bigger brand name (i.e. Danny Manning leaving Wake to become HC at Kansas..example purposes only).
