My take


On top, off the whistle you work to get to a safe position to get to work. As long as the top guy is working or looks like he's working until something opens up. The bottom guy should be working to improve his position which is when things should open up. Our guys do the same thing just from the bow and arrow.

Now, something I've said for years is when a guy throws legs in and the bottom guy stands up it shouldn't be a stalemate, the top guy needs to work to return him or get hit with stalling.
