Not so. There are donations to the Hokie Club that


are sports specific, which are not used for scholarships, and capital contributions which are used for construction projects, and in some instances, debt service.

Donations to the SERTC or similar organizations can be used to pay for things that could not be paid by Tech - your example of Ty Walz is a good example. Also, those types of organizations can be used to supplement coaches pay and pay "volunteer" coaches.
