this type of early contact is largely a non event. Nothing binds the school or recruit. Lots of things can happen in the intervening period to change status. From VT's point, there are only negatives in not doing it because it allows others to be the first through the door. The question VT has to monitor is by doing this, what, if any, negatives do they potentially create for themselves going forward? If any negatives are created, do they or could they offset the perceived benefits?
