Maybe nothing. I believe he was recruited by VT during Beamer's

final 2 years. So it may be a case of some of Beamer's recruits not being a good fit for Fuente's system (trying to fit a square peg into a round hole kind of thing).

Although I do wonder (generally speaking) if big time college football has developed a similar habit as the NFL; specifically having a shorter patience level when it comes to "projects." Certain NFL franchises will draft a QB in hopes he becomes the next "franchise QB." Since the NFL game is "different" than the college game, then a case could be made that all QBs draft are a "project" to a certain extent. Then 2-3 years (maybe even 4 years) later that same franchise drafts another QB in hopes that he is the next "franchise QB." I don't think that is what is going on here or at least I hope not. However, it may be a growing trend in the college game that could eventually find its way to Blacksburg.
