Even though Tinch was a great pitcher and the team had postseason

success, was the program truly in great shape when she graduated? Specifically I am think of the offensive output against opposing great pitchers. It seemed like when the team went up against great pitches, especially in the NCAA Tournament, they had trouble putting runs on the board. At times it seemed like the strategy was to assume that Tinch brought her "A" game, hope that the team can figure out how to get 1 run on the board, and hope that 1 run is enough to win the game. In terms of close games against great opposing pitchers, I believe VT lost more than they won. When Tinch graduated it seemed like the team was still a few pieces away from becoming a great team.
