It appears that Tech is going the Auburn route next season. Both Rochard and Dail are battlers in the circle. Next season, Scot can bring in Rochard, Dail, Eberle, Aiken, Barnes, and Richardson (if she remains on the team). Plus we have Whitcomb too. That's the most capable pitchers that I can remember Scot having during his tenure as Tech's softball coach.
IMO, I think the past 2-3 years are the result of Scot Thomas getting behind in recruiting 4-5 years ago. He wasn't offering scholarships until the girls finished their sophomore season. Meanwhile, other schools were offering scholarships to eighth graders. Since 2012 or 2013, he has changed his recruiting philosophy, mainly to remain competitive with all the other programs. I personally think there should be an age limit on scholarship offers. I think the end of your sophomore year is about right. Scot offered Emma Lemley out of Jefferson Forest as an 8th grader. Lemley graduates in 2021. Most of next season's incoming freshmen were offered 4 years ago.
