Wichita State was looking at adding football last summer.

They paid consultants to figure out what would be involved. They reached out to the Mountain West Conference to see what interest there was. Apparently, they reached out to the AAC too. The American is a better destination for basketball.

The AAC might give them time to better organize for the addition of football. They will also have access to Texas recruiting in the AAC.
