Straight answer? No. But the ACC is going to survive...

the real question for me is, what's in it for my Hokies?

If, in the next decade, my Hokies can make the same level of revenue from the ACC as any other P5 conference, I will be happy with the ACC. If not, I still think the ACC is where Tech belongs and we'll have to hope for success on the field/court to push us ahead. Unfortunately, it is very evident that money plays a huge part in the success of programs.

We learned that watching Tech wrestling this year. A very solid program, but still lightyears away from PSU. WLAX looked great, until we ran into the ACC elite buzzsaw. T&F is solid, but not to a level of LSU, Oregon, etc. what do they all have in common? MONEY, facilities and resources. Tech is falling behind in the race for cash which could stiffle us in years to come.

There are the "rah rah" ACC guys that will jump for joy every time the ACC wins a championship, but I could care less about any of the other 13 1/2 ACC members or any other P65 schools. I care about Tech and our future. The "rah-rah" group likes to keep saying things like "ESPN was never going to pick the ACC first" or "just wait and see" or "when the ACC gets Texas" type dialogs, but the simple fact is that we are behind TODAY.

Not to sound cliche', but the ACC is behind in the arms race. FSU, UL, UNC, UVA, Duke & ND have their money. Getting money from the ACC to them is just gravy. For the rest of us, ACC money us vital. And like it or not... Tech is behind.
