I believe the league is considered "semi-pro" so I am not really sure
salary is much of an issue for the other clubs in the league. Also, I think BYU only gives its players a stipend, but I am not entirely sure if it is the same amount given to the other athletes playing on NCAA sanctioned teams. It appears there is no change on how long a player is associated with the team compared to the other NCAA sanctioned teams. I found that a little surprising since BYU still requires the players to go on a 2-year mission and holds the players to the same academic standards it uses for its NCAA sanctioned teams.
FYI - there is a link to the PDL on BYU's website (if you want to see more about the pro league BYU is in). Also, I noticed on the 2017 schedule that BYU plays University of Denver and University of Utah. It doesn't appear Utah is affiliated with the PDL, but I am not entirely sure about the University of Denver since there is a Denver team in the PDL. Denver's website doesn't appear to be up and running yet which makes it tough to determine if they are the same team or not.
