My point though is that ESPN may not have any say in the matter


If Disney, which owns 80% of ESPN, makes the decision to terminate the LHN, then ESPN would have to honor the decision. At least I can't think of a scenario where ESPN could disobey the decision without any repercussions. If the Hearst Corporation, which owns the other 20%, is also on board with the decisions, then that should seal the LHN's fate.
