Those 3 schools probably did add stability, but it might be


debatable how much stability they added to the conference. Even though the ACC has negotiated slightly better deals than the Big East, at times it still feels like the ACC taken on the burden of the basketball vs. football debate from the Big East. What is unclear and will be interesting to watch play out is whether a conference can flourish if there are 3 camps with competing interests. The reason I said 3 is because 2 of the camps place importance on 1 sport and consider the other sport to be more an afterthought. The third camp is schools that place equal emphasis on both sports through the various business decisions made by the athletic department. Right now I would say that L'ville and VT may be the only 2 schools in that third group.
