I think everyone wants the NCAA to make a decision.

The reason this has dragged on for 7 years is that this academic misconduct did not violate any rules pertaining to the NCAA. It's an issue for the Accreditation board. The Southern Association for Colleges and School already put UNC on probation over it.

Over 3100 students took those bogus courses with less than half student athletes. If the NCAA sanctions schools for having gut courses that athletes take, the NCAA would have to sanction most of its members. That's very common.

So what they are trying to charge UNC for now is Lack of Institutional Control. It's lack of control of something outside of the jurisdiction of the NCAA though. The rest of the ACC just wants the NCAA to finish its investigation and make a decision. If Dr. Wallace Loh is ranting, we'll once again be fortunate enough to be dazzled by his brilliance or lack thereof.
