The fake classes are only part of it. Academic advisors changing grades and doing papers to keep players eligible...just like FSU. If St. Bobby had his win total changed, why would Dean be exempt?

There is also a new factor...pressure on the NCAA relative to its testimony in the court challenges re: paying student athletes. The NCAA testified in court that it is an academic venture (it was the heart of their defense...the "student-athlete"), and its federal tax exempt status also hinges on it. To claim that it is an academic venture with no authority relative to the core of the academic endeavor doesn't help them at all.

It has dragged on due to the unprecedented extent of the cheating and the lengths to which UNC has resisted, obstructed, and stalled.
