In softball, a potential recruit can not speak with a coach unless on campus for a camp. College coaches do call travel team coaches and high school coaches with player inquiries. Players can email coaches with their profile information and what their playing schedule is in hopes the college coaches will come and watch, but no contact is allowed at the games.

Any communication prior to junior year has only been through coaches unless a player is on campus for some type of camp/event.
