The ACC really needs to be watching those.


I really like what I see with USF especially. The ACC has been trying to have a presence in Tampa for a while now. USF would really help that. Every ACC member should want more football games in Florida for recruiting. And USF would really help with Miami and Florida State travel concerns. The series of videos USF put together to impress the Big XII impressed me. One of them was selling not just USF, but Tampa itself. It had the mayor, business leaders, and even Tony Dungy. One of the other ones showed their facilities, which look first class. I realize they have only played football for 20 years, but they are coming on fast. And they have 50,000 students.

They play football at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stadium, but they have plans for their own at the campus. Some recent articles make it sound like they have the site identified.

UCF could be good as well. ESPN has build its Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World. Since the ACC is very tied into ESPN, perhaps something could be done to have events there. And Orlando is also a growing part of Florida.

I would probably go back to West Virginia, and then perhaps add South Florida if Notre Dame remains a non-football member indefinitely. I still like UConn for other reasons, but Florida is where football is at looking forward. Heck Jim Harbaugh plans many satellite camps there.
