If I were the Pac12, I would be ALL OVER UNLV.


Academics, smackademics. We're talking sports here. If you're forming, leading, growing and ATHLETICS conference, and your primary concern is academics, then you've already gotten off on the wrong foot. It only results in "odd" decisions, such as those that have been made by the ACC.
When considering who to add to your conference, there should be about three considerations.
1. Does adding this school bring in more money? 2. Does adding this school bring about better competition? 3. Is this school a geographic fit?

UNLV's got a solid athletic department and they could do quite a bit more with P5 money. I think they've got a pretty high football ceiling. I think the new stadium's gonna be really close to campus.
