The problem with New Mexico is there are no significant


TV markets and the state is not really highly prized in recruiting. If anything there is probably no difference between NM and the western half of TX. The Pac-16 may be willing to take New Mexico or Texas Tech, but I am not sure they would be willing to take both. If they had to pick between the schools, then they would pick Texas Tech because that would be a requirement in order to add Texas. I don't see the Pac-16 adding Texas Tech without adding Texas too. I don't think the conference would settle for a OU-Texas Tech combination.
