They will matter for seeding in the playoff, just like NCAA basketball.

We can agree to disagree on how close and how many championships the G-5 has won. Again, just like JMU and Richmond with their National Championships in another division, I think the G-5 will be better off.

Lastly, if it goes to 4 Power and 16 teams, there will be only one team left out. There is not a lot of political power behind one team. (Baylor I would be worried with recent history) Personally I would like to see 4 with 20, but ESPN and Fox almost skewed the Big 12 for wanting to expand. Maybe that is because they want a Power 4 and then they will let more in, but I am not so sure about that anymore.
