congratulations Ed Wang, new CAFL President ! !

"Big Ed Making Big Move in China

Updated: April 19, 2017

Philadelphia (April 19, 2017)

At 6-feet-5 and over 250 pounds, Ed Wang stands out wherever he goes. He was imposing as a high school football star in Virginia, an All-ACC tackle at Virginia Tech, and then as the first full-blooded Chinese player in the NFL (when he tipped the scales at over 300 pounds). Even Hillary Clinton once noted his football achievements in a press conference.

Now, as the newly promoted President of the CAFL, Ed’s life long passion for the game has taken him back to his parent’s homeland to lead the league into its second season this coming fall.

“His knowledge of the game and his enthusiasm for China, makes for a special leader” says CAFL Founder and Chairman Marty
Judge. Perhaps Ed says it best himself. See the video below."

"About the China Arena Football League (CAFL):

As China’s only Professional American Football League, the CAFL plays its seasons each year during the months of September through October. The 2017 season will be comprised of its six teams, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Wuhan and Shenyang. Each professional team is comprised of a total of 22 players, 11 Chinese and 11 Foreigners, (mostly from America). The 2017 season, which is called the CAFL Super Series II, commences September 23/24 in Shanghai and will travel respectively to Qingdao on September 30/October 1, to Guangzhou (Foshun) on October 7/8, to Shenyang on October 14/15, to Wuhan on October 21/22 and then to Beijing for the Championships on October 28/29.

The CAFL enjoys a multi-year working formal partnership with China’s Sports Bureau’s China Rugby Football Association (CRFA), which has been a driving force behind the success of the CAFL."
