Well, I'm a Mining Engineer PE, so probably that.
College was not a hard decision for me, because I knew I wanted to be an engineer in middle school. Honestly, I wanted to design roller coasters, but those jobs are a little tougher to find.
Other possibilities, computer science or something business/finance related. That's what I know and am good at. I'm not a very good example of someone making a good choice versus what they'd want to do.
My wife did Dietetics, which I think was a great choice for her. She had some debt that we paid down quickly, but she wouldn't have had it for 30 years going it alone, nor is it a worthless degree. As with most things, it comes down to personal responsibility and the individual. Are you going to use that degree to it's full potential, or are you paying $80k+ just to get a college experience for a couple years?
Not all tools are alike, just like not all degrees are alike, but I bet you wouldn't say most tools are worthless.
