Not sure that broke really has anything to do with it as ESPN is 80% owned by Disney and 20% owned by Hearst Corporation. Any restructuring associated with ESPN moving to red numbers would not involve a true bankruptcy/reorganization scenario and it is doubtful they would void future payments. They might restructure the contracts and/or offer certain buyout incentives but, whatever happens I doubt people will be caught by surprise or left scrambling at the last minute. Between the ESPN and Fox issues, the industry challenges related to subscription models and content distribution, etc. the next few years will be interesting and the landscape might be drastically different. The ACC missed out on the first round of network deals but , how that impacts them going forward is yet to be determined.
