Lounge metaphysicists: help me out with this deja vu-like situation


This is not a riddle or a brain teaser. It happened about 18 hours ago.

Yesterday I practiced at the golf club for a little while before I went home. After I wrapped up, I was loading my clubs in the back of my truck when I noticed a car parked across from me with nobody in it; specifically I noticed two things about it:

1. It was a light colored Hyundai Genesis, which I think are great looking cars
2. License # was RAD ONC, Radiation Oncologist I assume

Thinking nothing more of it I started making my way home.

My golf club is situated at the end of a dead end road and there is no "alternate" road out. Everybody has to take the same road whether you're arriving or leaving.

So for the deja vu experience maybe 5 minutes later; I'm about 3 miles from the club, sitting at a red light ready to turn right, and I merge behind a Hyundai Genesis coming from the west.

I get up closer after about a mile of following and the license plate is "RAD ONC".

There is literally no way for him to get in front of me because we would have had to take the exact same route. I would have seen him if he passed me. The car was also parked with nobody in it as I was leaving, meaning I had at least a one minute head start. He was coming from the west heading east, meaning he somehow traveled further than I did and was now doubling back by coming toward me.

All I can think is that I am not remembering the situation as it happened, or this guy has two similar cars with similar license plates and I just happened to see them both.

I have never had a seizure or loss of consciousness in my life, and my memory for facts and figures is good.

So what happened?
