Sure. Look at his stats.

In two games he filled in for Marquise for 1 play and immediately threw TD passes. In another he played the whole game. He was ACC POW.

And look at his final season stats without the VT game (linked)

Even with the VT game, in the ACC ( a great QB conference) he was:
#1 in completion %
#2 in attempts, passing TDs, efficiency rating, TD responsible for.
#3 in adjusted YPA, total YPP
#4 in total yds
