I think his advice was internal as opposed to external unfortunately.

I have not heard of anyone advising him to declare for the draft. Everyone has said repeatedly they were shocked by the decision.

Coaches shocked
NFL scouts shocked
Commentators shocked
NFL advised him to come back for his evaluation.
Family no public comments but it was obviously not in his career best interest with his future employer saying he was not ready.
