He would have been the starter for us this year.
No way do you pull a guy who performed for us the way JE performed. He came real close to beating the eventual National Champions. We certainly need to get beyond JE and whether he liked it in the Burg, whether he was taking too much abuse on his legs, etc, as the JE era is gone, but if JE were back for that theoretical senior year, the Hokies would be in the drivers seat for the coastal instead of being once again in unknown territory. True, he also lost 2 of his big targets, but replacing receivers will be a bit easier than replacing a QB IMO.
