Big ten is different


Any school in the big 12, except Texas, would jump at a chance to join the big 10. It, has so much prestige with so many great academic universities. The branding would be tremendous for OU. However, you do need 2 to tangle, and Big ten schools, don't want to water down any more their academic portfolio (yes Nebraska did)....Big ten schools want texas bad; Texas has the academics and school size that complements the big ten.
However, from Texas mindset, they are Texas, and have choices and they are postured to what is the best for texas no 1; and they have the money to work it.

I feel Oklahoma politically can argue the big ten case, but for other choices, they are smart enough to work the in-state work of making sure Ok State is well positioned as well. The president of Oklahoma is smart, and experience working the Senate, he knows how this all must be orchestrated. While he's getting a little old, its great to have that experience in leadership.
