Let's assume each Big Ten and SEC school earns $40 million

each year. Let's assume the National Collegiate Athletic League (NCAL) could earn each school $60 million each year. If you are an AD for a Big Ten or SEC school, then which check would you like to deposit?

My point is simple; look at the type of money the NFL and its teams are able to generate with its TV contracts and antitrust exemption. Now I don't believe that collegiate athletics will be able to generate that kind of money. However, by pooling their resources together and keeping the numbers small, I don't see why collegiate athletics couldn't significantly increase the amount of revenue they are making now.
