Maybe there could be a coordinated effort to get to 4x16 where conferences don't get everything they want for the greater good of college football. For example:

ACC adds UConn and WVU (ND will never join)
B1G adds Kansas and Iowa State (both AAU)
SEC adds Oklahoma and Oklahoma State
PAC adds Texas, Texas Tech, TCU and K-State
Baylor goes to Mountain West or American
