Umm...you are basing it on the premise that conferences

will be competing against each for revenue and have independent TV contracts. Whereas I am working off the premise that they will eventually work together in order to gain antitrust exemption and share the revenue from a much larger pie. Also, I am assuming that the 4 conferences will shift back to being more regionalize because it is more appealing for fans for all sports and only help increase the value of the product. Plus, you are not factoring in that the conferences may already have some undesirable members.

In the SEC's case, it probably doesn't need 2 MS, 2 OK, and 2 TN schools. Likewise, it probably has members that may not carry their full weight; specifically I am referring to schools that may only be good in few sports and not close in getting better in any of the other sports.
