Trying to "reset" a PC....

I have a cheap laptop I bought a couple years ago for basic interwebs/e-mail use. It's gotten pretty much unusable...it just can't do anything quickly anymore, and lots of things it just can't do all. I have plenty of other devices that do what I need done, so I was thinking about repurposing this for my kid to play some on-line games and watch videos and such.

I've started the "Reset" through the control panel (or whatever that's called in Windows10). It's been on "getting a few things ready 1%" for a half hour.

There has to be a better way?
