And much of the bump they are getting is with loans that have to be paid back. It will be substantially less than $100 million by 2020. Substantially less. It will appear inflated because it involves borrowing in excess of $10 million per year until full share. But Maryland has to pay that back.

What is true is that Rutgers got nowhere close to as good a deal as Maryland. They did not get the $30 million travel bonus or the Advance loans. Neither did Nebraska.

From a Big Ten Fan's perspective, you could ask yourself is Maryland worth all of that? The article from Michigan Man could tell you what he thinks. I guess theoretically the Big Ten could forgive Maryland's debt in 2021, but imagine what the other schools would think of that.

By the way 50 million subscribers averaging $0.50 subscriber fees, which the SEC Network gets much higher, equates to $10 million per each school per year. That is giving ESPN half the intake and the ACC the other half. Increase the subscriber rate or the number of subscribers, and the number goes up. The ACC should easily be able to reach those numbers.
