In reality, it's not nearly as talented as southern states. Not even close.


You may get a star player like David Wright or the Upton brothers here and there but i dare you to compare overall baseball talent in VA to GA, FL, or SC. Kind of like football. For a little perspective, I played ball down in GA. During my senior year alone, we faced 6 guys who threw mid 90s (two of which were Micah Owings and Brandon Moss). And this was a region with relatively small schools (3A on a 5A scale I believe) so it didn't even include the traditional Atlanta baseball powerhouses. When I have talked to others who grew up playing in nova or the 757, they rarely saw anyone who could hit 90 on the gun.
