I am not sure the SEC would go with the rotating pods method

In talking with co-workers, who are SEC alumni/fans, it seems the SEC would keep the permanent divisions. The 2 AL schools would switch to the East, Mizzou would switch to the West, and the 2 new schools would be added to the West.

If for some reason the SEC did opt to go with the pods method, then it is unclear whether they would separate 2 schools from the same state. It may depend on who ends up being the 15th and 16th members. If for some reason the SEC decided to split 'Bama and Auburn and make them a protected game, then I believe the SEC would have to designate a protect game for the remaining 14 schools. At the very least they would have to pair the pods up and go with the 2 fixed-2 rotating format.
