You keep talking like head coaches from successful power 5 schools just want to up and leave to come to Blacksburg. Not always the case. Link Jarrett was asst at Auburn 2. Head Coaches typically take a CEO approach to managing the team. That's why they hire a pitching coach. 3. Every VT coach has had the ability to recruit Va, Mid-Atlantic etc., they haven't had the facilities in order to do so. The stadium will drastically improve recruiting for new head coach. 4. I'd rather have a coach that has a track record of continued success/development than one who has quick turnarounds. Turnarounds are good but seldom stand the test of time. I would consider 2-3 maybe even 4 years "quick" for a turnaround at VT given our last 2 seasons. Meaning winning conference & overall record, consistent ACC tournament appearances.
